Global Learning Courses

SYG 2000: Intro to Sociology
This course provided relevant, thoughtful information of the social issues and conflicts we experience in our everyday lives. I found that this course well prepared me for "Research Methods," an advanced course that dives into assessing and conducting research reflected from data samples of certain populations. I was able to maintain an "A" grade for this course.
WOH 2001: World Civilization
This course highlighted the traditions, cultures, and values of several civilizations around the world. I was able to study the origins and evolutions of select societies while analyzing their significance on the world we experience today.
GEO 4354: Global Food System
This course shed light on the American food system in comparison to other countries. One of the main topics that stood out to me was how much food waste the US accumulates. I think that this course helped generate thought on how we can improve our food system and prevent our produce and other commodities from going to waste.
INR 3081: Contemporary International Problems
This course provided historical context into the current conflicts the world is experiencing today. I was deeply interested in learning from this course, and I was able to complete the class with a new global perspective while maintaining an "A" for this class.
INR 4075: International Protection of Human Rights
This course was actually the main contender in inspiring me to pursue law school. I participated in a day long volunteering event for a Bench and Bar conference hosted by FIU Law and Professor Andrej Milic, Esq., where I had the opportunity to network with over 700 judges and attorneys who had traveled to Miami for this event. While I received an "A" grade for this course, I also received great advice and inspiration to commit to my upcoming law school journey.
